Yoshiko Fuji was born into a samurai family in Japan on the day of rain water according to the East Asian celestial calendar. Theatre credits include Everyone's Carol alongside Austin Pendleton and Arthur French and Takeshi Kitano stage production of Miyako Inn. New York workshops/readings include The Grass Couch with Tovah Feldshuh directed by Michael Parva. Film credits include Sayônara directed by Cannes Award winner Kôji Fukada, Fuunji directed by Japan Academy Award winner Shigeru Ishihara, and Tayutau with cinematography by Japan Academy Award winner Naoki Kayano. In 2015, Fuji became ambassador for Yorai 5, the artisan tea brand in Taiwan. Japanese government awarded Fuji the 2007-2008 Overseas Study Programme for Artists Fellowship Grant for her work on Japanese stage. Trained with the gold standards of Broadway and Cinema : William Esper, John Patrick Shanley, Michael Howard, Jonathan Lynn, and Austin Pendleton.
