YOSHIKO FUJI was born into a samurai family in Japan on the day of rain water according to the East Asian celestial calendar.  Trained under the gold standards of Broadway and Cinema: William Esper, Michael Howard, John Patrick Shanley, and Austin Pendleton.  Theatre credits include Takeshi Kitano stage production of Miyako Inn and Everyone’s Carol alongside Austin Pendleton and Arthur French.  New York workshops/readings include Anna Simone Scott's The Grass Couch with Tovah Feldshuh directed by Michael Parva.  Film credits include Sayônara directed by Cannes award winner Kôji Fukada, Fuunji directed by Japan Academy award winner Shigeru Ishihara, and Tayutau with cinematography by Japan Academy award winner Naoki Kayano.  Fuji is a global ambassador for Yorai 5, the artisan tea brand in Taiwan.  The Japanese government awarded Fuji an Overseas Study Programme for Artists Fellowship Grant for her work on Japanese stage.  She is a member of Japan Actors Union as well as Actors' Equity Association in the USA.
